Electric Vehicle Charging

Charging ahead

Deciphering why organisations are choosing to install electric vehicle charging points

Sustainability and the environmental responsibilities of UK organisations are creeping to the forefront of business priorities.

Likewise, is the popularity of electric vehicles, with the sales of such gaining momentum each year. (2022 saw the Electric Vehicle market claim a 16.6% UK market share)

With this increase in sales and as more organisations recognise the environmental benefits of cleaner transport options, the need for installation of electric vehicle charging points within your workplace is becoming increasingly evident, for a multitude of reasons, including:

  • Reducing carbon footprint: Organisations are looking to introduce electric vehicles into their fleet to reduce their carbon footprint, so it would be applicable to have the facility to charge the vehicles on site, whilst aligning with their sustainability objectives.
  • Customer acquisition: It is not only organisations who are conscious of their responsibilities towards a sustainable future, but also your existing and prospective customers.
  • Introducing Electric vehicles and charging points suggests to your customers that your organisation is taking measures to reduce their emissions, potentially giving you a competitive advantage, making you more attractive to work with.
  • Employee and visitor fulfilment: As more people look to purchase electric vehicles, the installation of charging points at your workplace will be attractive to your employees, not only demonstrating your commitment to sustainability, but to supporting your employees and visitors, by providing the facility to charge their vehicles.
  • Cost savings: Electric vehicles are cheaper to run and maintain than traditional diesel and petrol vehicles, so over time the savings gained on installing the electric vehicle charging points will provide a good ROI.
  • Futureproofing: The electric vehicle market is growing, especially with the 2030 ban on new petrol and diesel vehicles creeping up.

By investing in the infrastructure now, it is positioning your organisation for long-term success as electric vehicle adoption continues.
