Three new starters join DIS

At Data Installation & Supplies we are proud that we hold the values of investing in our people with the highest regards, as such we are pleased to announce that we have recently hired three new starters, Seb, Liam and Ben.

All three of our new team members have been enrolled on the City & Guilds Network Cable Installer Apprenticeship Programme, alongside one of our existing Cabling Engineers who was looking to enhance his knowledge and skillset.

As a company we’ve been looking at the best options to introduce new members into our existing team of skilled engineers, with the apprenticeship route appealing to us as it enabled us to invest in new people and their future.

This will not only future-proof DIS with the acquisition of new talent, but we hope that the new engineers will not only gain extensive technical knowledge throughout their apprenticeship, but also that they will grow within the business following the completion of their programme, remaining valued and experienced members of our Engineering team.

Who will not only have benefitted from learning the educational aspect of what Cabling entails, but who have worked with us at Data Installation & Supplies from the beginning of their career, enabling our more experienced engineers, Project Managers and Directors to support them at all times.

Throughout the programme the engineers will gain many formally recognised qualifications, including achieving their Gold ECS Card, whilst becoming confident and competent in the following areas:

  • Installation of copper and fibre optic cables
  • The ability to interpret detailed project plans
  • Installing network equipment in cabinets
  • Undertaking performance-based testing
  • Work within Health and Safety guidelines
  • Use and care for equipment correctly
  • Manage workflow activities as well as personal time and attendance tracking

We will look forward to providing regular updates on the progress of our team enrolled on the Apprenticeship Programme over the coming months, demonstrating how they are contributing to the existing team and how they are settling into the team at DIS, but for now we would like to formally welcome Seb, Liam and Ben to DIS.

At the moment we are actively recruiting for a new engineer in the Farnham area to join the apprenticeship programme, please click here for more information.

“I’m really excited for the start of the apprenticeship programme; it shows our drive and commitment to invest in our people whilst also supporting business growth.  Our Apprentices will gain great qualifications and invaluable hands on experience.”
