In this blog post we want to provide you with a bit of background on the history of SD-WAN and how it came to fruition, because although it’s a relatively new concept in the UK market, it’s been around for quite a while!
SD-WAN in the UK Market
SD-WAN is a relatively new technology to the UK market, growing in popularity and we’re now seeing an increase in businesses adopting it as a network solution, predominantly as a supplement to their existing robust MPLS networks.
SD-WAN initially saw its popularity grow within the North American market; this is undoubtedly down to geographical location.
North America is a large area, with many businesses operating across multiple sites, whether that be in a single state, or country wide, perfect for adopting SD-WAN.
SD-WAN was initially seen in the UK market as a threat to traditional, robust MPLS, however as knowledge has increased, it’s now seen as a supplement to MPLS.
