Camera upgrade to monitor the Hornsea coastline
Our customer, the NCI Hornsea, has the objective ‘to assist in the protection and preservation of life at sea and along the United Kingdom coastline’.
Customer Challenge:
NCI Hornsea approached Data Installation & Supplies (DIS) to upgrade their existing, dated camera systems currently in use to monitor the coastline at Hornsea, where they work tirelessly to ensure the safety of the public.
The DIS Solution:
Our engineering team, led by National Account Manager Martyn Armstrong proposed a full end-to-end solution to upgrade their existing CCTV cameras, utilising high specification technology from Axis Communications.
To start, we installed AXIS M-Series cameras, which are IK08-rated, flat-faced dome cameras, which suppress light reflections, whilst giving a wide-angle view in 4 MP videos. These cameras provide sharp video and clear colour in challenging light and darkness, further featuring enhanced security functionality and Axis Zipstream.
We also installed AXIS Q-Series 50 Hz network cameras which offer HDTV 1080P and 40x optical zoom for great overviews and excellent details, featuring track functionality and orientation aid for active object tracking and quick orientation. Importantly for this project these cameras also deliver low-light images with more saturated colours and sharper images of moving objects.
To record the footage, we installed the AXIS S-Series camera station appliance, which is an all-in-one recording solution with integrated, manageable PoE switch designed to deliver high-definition surveillance with up to 4K resolution.
Results:
As a result of this deployment of IP CCTV cameras along the coastline at Hornsea the coastguard can effectively monitor and respond to incidents in real-time.
The innovative CCTV system installed supports detection of, and addressing potential threats, coordinating rescue operations and ensuring compliance with any maritime regulations.
The pro-active approach used by NCI Hornsea not only saves lives but helps in the prevention of accidents and criminal activities, underscoring the importance of CCTV in modern safety strategies.
